ICYMI: Silver Dollar City to invest half a billion dollars over next decade, new resort hotel announced

Posted on October 21, 2024 By malu

Voted the #1 Theme Park In The U.S. by Tripadvisor, Silver Dollar City is not one to rest on its laurels. Its company, Silver Dollar City Parks & Resorts, just made the largest announcement in its 65-year history: a $500 million investment plan over the next decade, which includes the development of 1,200 acres adjacent to the theme park.

Silver Dollar City, tucked in the Ozark Mountains in Branson, Missouri, is a beloved family destination that seamlessly blends tradition with innovation. In true Silver Dollar City fashion, the park has its sights set on the future while ensuring it maintains that special sauce. In addition to the sizable investment over the next decade, the park recently unveiled its lineup of festivals for the upcoming 2025 season, including a brand-new springtime festival and new entertainment and dining opportunities.

You can check out my comprehensive one-day guide to Silver Dollar City as you plan your visit to the park, but I am sure the guide will soon need an addendum! Let’s break everything down.

Silver Dollar City announces $500M investment plan, including its first resort hotel

Silver Dollar City Parks & Resort’s $500 million development plan will manifest first in the form of a brand-new resort hotel: Silver Dollar City Resort. This will be the first theme park resort in the American Heartland, with 262 rooms and sweeping vows of the Ozark Mountains and Table Rock Lake. Construction is currently underway and Silver Dollar City Resort is scheduled to open at the end of 2026.

When completed, the resort will include a full-service restaurant, 17,000 square feet of indoor and outdoor meeting space, as well as an indoor and outdoor poo. More details will be revealed soon regarding the resort’s guest amenities, park privileges, room types, and group meeting spaces. Guests staying at the resort will also be able to enjoy transportation from the front door of the resort to a special resort entrance at Silver Dollar City.

Media that were in attendance for this historic announcement were invited to the construction site afterwards to see the sweeping views firsthand. It will truly be a sight to behold when the resort is complete and welcomes its first guests in late 2026. The resort is only the first of what will surely be multiple announcements and projects in the years to come.

More changes ahead at Silver Dollar City in 2025

In addition to the forthcoming $500 million investment plan, Silver Dollar City also unveiled the dates of its 2025 seasonal festivals, which include a few new additions.

New in 2025 is Spring Exposition, a brand-new festival featuring an extended Plaza with enough room for hoedown dance parties, gardening demonstrations, and more. Spring Exposition will also feature the debut of a new parasol sky soaring high over Valley Road.

At the springtime festival, taking place from April 10 through May 12, guests can enjoy a new Down-Home Clogging Jamboree show, a new Fest House, which celebrates America’s iconic food and music, and an array of new foods to try, including spring-inspired dishes like Ozarks Fish Fry, Peach Cobbler Mason Jars, and Honey Blueberry Lemonade. Following Spring Exposition, Silver Dollar City’s annual Bluegrass & BBQ Festival returns May 14 through 26.

Next summer, Silver Dollar City’s Summer Celebration returns from June 7 through August 3 with old-fashioned fun and new entertainment. A brand-new drone and fireworks show will perform nightly, along with dance parties in the park’s newly expanded Plaza. Additional new entertainment offerings and food will also be on deck for the summer celebration. Also returning next summer is the Southern Gospel Picnic, available for guests from August 21 through September 1.

Fall is all about the heavy-hitter festival favorites, including Harvest Festival and An Old Time Christmas. Harvest Festival returns from September 12 through October 25, complete with thousands of pumpkins, dance parties, and fall flavors.

From November 1 through December 30, An Old Time Christmas returns featuring a new Grand Plaza Fir Christmas tree with a nightly lighting ceremony. A new Heart of Christmas Show will also debut as part of the 2025 holiday season. Of course, this is all accompanied by the park’s 6.5 million+ lights that twinkle nightly, along with favorite holiday treats.
